Proceedings sponsored by Institute of Marine Research and University of Bergen, 4-9 July 1999. Book contains 263 papers that were presented at the 6th International Symposium on Reproductive Physiology of Fish, hosted by the Institute of Marine Research and the University of Bergen between July 4-9 at Fantoft, Bergen, Norway. The symposium followed the tradition of five previous meetings and consisted of one plenary lecture and nine scientific sessions: Brain/hypothalamus; Pituitary; Gonadal Physiology; Oogenesis; Spermatogenesis and Sex Differentiation; Reproduction in Wild Populations; Behaviour; Natural and Anthropogenic Environmental Influences on Reproduction; Aquaculture. In addition to the oral presentations, more than 200 posters were presented in two poster sessions. The plenary lecture is presented in a twelve page paper, the eight page papers were invited talks, three-page papers represent original talks and posters are represented by one page papers.
